Why Cotom Coffee

Our coffee is organically grown in Huehuetenango, Guatemala which is famous for its coffee. The quality of coffee is not only based on how it's grown, but it also depends on the environment it's grown in. This is why you see a lot of larger coffee companies using Guatemalan coffee. Huehuetenango, in particular, is known for its high altitudes as it's the most elevated land in Guatemala. Rich and flavorful coffee is grown in high altitudes because the coffee beans grow at a slower pace due to harsher climates. This results in more complex sugars being formed. As a result, Huehue's (Huehuetenango's nickname) coffee is best known for its acidic and fruity flavors.


Part of this project is reclaiming my land and gifting you with an elevated coffee experience. I want to offer you a taste of my culture, my country and family.


We are currently only offering pre-orders for our dark roast, Mt. Tam, because we want to roast it a few days before delivering it to you, rather than storing it for long periods of time. We want to ensure the best experience for you which is why we chose organic coffee as well as recently roasted coffee beans.
